What a real tune up covers

Coil condition inside and out, refrigerant charge verified rather than assumed, electrical connections and amp draw, capacitor and contactor condition, condensate drain and safety switch, airflow and filter, and thermostat calibration. On the coast we pay particular attention to what the salt air has done to the outdoor coil.

Why it pays

A system that is clean and correctly charged uses less power to move the same heat, which shows up on the summer bill. Catching a weak capacitor in April costs a part. Finding it in August costs a part, an emergency call and a day of your house at ninety degrees.

How often should a system be serviced?
Once a year at minimum, ideally before the season it works hardest. On the coast, where salt is working on the outdoor coil year round, once a year is the floor rather than the target.
